ABOUT GIRL PAUA

Hi, I’m Mhairi, the founder of Girl Paua Jewellery. After graduating from Aberdeen University with an Honours Degree in Languages, I spent a year travelling and working in New Zealand. It was there that I first came across Paua Shell (Maori for abalone), a shell which caught my attention and imagination with its iridescent rainbow of fantastic colours. On my return to the UK I decided to start up my own business, creating beautiful distinct jewellery and gifts from the natural shells I had seen on my trip to New Zealand, which include both Paua Shell and Black Mother of Pearl. I love the sparkle of Swarovski Crystals & the lustre of Freshwater Pearls, so I decided to add these to many of my designs, to compliment the natural multitude of colours found within the shells.


The result is very unique and modern, a vibrant and natural beauty captured by the iridescence of the shells, crystals and pearls.


The range has something for everyone, and I strive to give my customers whatever they desire by customising many elements of the jewellery. As most pieces are handmade I can alter elements of the design, the size of many necklaces & bracelets, and the colour of the Swarovski Crystals. Brides can have pieces customised based on some of the other pieces in the collection, and most items can be altered for any age group and for any occasion – just ask! All jewellery comes gift-boxed with a Repair Service should any problems occur, and a no hassle Returns Policy for complete peace of mind.
